STRINGING FAQ

How do I know if my racket needs restringing, even if the strings aren't broken...?

First of all check whether any of the strings have frayed. A frayed string will indicate the string is close to breaking.

Another telltale sign your racket is in need of a restring is tension loss...this is when the stringbed feels like a slingshot, resulting in your shots launching towards the back fence, without bouncing first - a complete lack of control...!

How often should I restring my racket...?

Although there is no exact rule of thumb to how often you should restring your racket, primarily because everyone hits with different levels of spin and power, Zx Racket Lab's rule of thumb is to restring after every 30 hours of play or at least 3 times per year to ensure the racket performs to it's intended potential, whilst at the same time avoiding potential wrist/elbow/shoulder injuries...!

I'm unsure what type of string is best suited to my level of play...?

With so many strings available within the marketplace,  choosing the right string for your game can be truly daunting, so please mail us at info@zxracqutlab.com to obtain some free guidance to take your game to the next level.

What if a string breaks the first time after it has been restrung...?

Please bare in mind that strings do not last forever and some strings are softer than others and subsequently are less durable than others - Please refer to our extensive Stringing Guide for guidance on the durability of different types of strings. Zx Racket cannot be held responsible for strings that on the rare occasion break on first use post restringing.

What if my racket breaks whilst being restrung...?

To ensure that your racket is never damaged during the restringing process, which we can confirm has never  happened before, we first of all inspect the racket to ensure there are no obvious or hairline cracks before mounting the racket onto our extremely secure 6 point clamping professional electric machine, the same one as used at Grand Slam events. On the rare occasion we do find a crack, no matter how small, we will notify the Client before proceeding...On the extremely rare occasion a racket might break, Zx Racket Lab do not accept any responsibility for the damage - Rackets are strung at the Clients own risk.
