STRINGING FAQ

How do I know if my racket needs restringing, even if the strings aren't broken...?

Start by checking for fraying - this is the clearest sign that your strings are about to break. Another tell tale clue is tension loss: if your racket suddenly feels like a slingshot and your shots are flying long with no control, it's time for a fresh restring.

How often should I restring my racket...?

There's no single rule as every player hits with a different level of spin and power. At Zx Racket Lab, we recommend restringing every 30 hours of play or at least three times per year. This ensures your racket performs as intended and helps protect your wrist, elbow and shoulder from avoidable strain.

I'm not sure what type of string is best for my game - can you help...?

Absolutely. With so many string options available, choosing the right setup can feel overwhelming. Email us at zxracketlab@gmail.com and we'll guide you towards the perfect match for your playing style.

What if a string breaks the first time after it has been restrung...?

Strings naturally vary in durability - some softer strings are designed for comfort and feel but will wear out faster, while others prioritise longevity. On rare occasions, a freshly strung racket may experience a break, usually due to the type of string or playing style. Please refer to our Stringing Guide for detailed information on the durability of different string families. Zx Racket Lab cannot accept responsibility for strings that break shortly after restringing, as this is an inherent characteristic of the material itself.

What if my racket breaks whilst being restrung...?

Before restringing, we thoroughly inspect every frame for cracks or weaknesses. Your racket is then mounted onto our six-point professional electronic machine, the same standard trusted at Grand Slam tournaments, ensuring maximum security. If we detect any crack - however small -we will notify you before proceeding. In the extremely rare event that a racket does break during the process, please note that rackets are strung at the Client's own risk and Zx Racket Lab cannot accept liability for such damage.
