The science of rackets, perfected
I was born the same year Wilson introduced the legendary T-2000, the first stainless steel tennis racket. Originally conceived by René Lacoste and immortalised by Jimmy Connors, one of the all-time greats, it marked the beginning of a new era in racket technology. Unknowingly, it also marked the beginning of a lifelong fascination with the science behind racket performance.
​Like Jimmy, I fell in love with the game, designed for Kings, at an early age. I first picked up a racket at the age of five, growing up in a sporting family where competition, commitment and the pursuit of improvement were simply part of everyday life.​ In 2014, a serious wrist injury threatened to bring that lifelong passion to an abrupt end. Instead, it took me on an entirely different journey.

Unable to play as I once had, I became fascinated by the technical side of the game. I immersed myself in understanding how weight, balance, swingweight, flex, strings and tension all influence how a racket performs. What began as a search for answers quickly became an obsession.​ Today, that curiosity continues to drive everything I do. I constantly test new rackets, strings and technologies, refining my own equipment while continually expanding my knowledge so I can offer every player informed, independent advice based on real experience rather than marketing claims.

From that passion, Zx Racket Lab was born.​ What started as a small stringing service at my local club has evolved into a specialist racket performance business trusted by everyone from dedicated club players to professional tour-level players. Every racket is approached with the same care, precision and attention to detail, regardless of who uses it.
Today, with labs in both The Cotswolds and London - strategically positioned between the LTA National Training Centre and the Queen's Club - we provide professional stringing, bespoke customisation, expert consultation and carefully selected accessories. For players further afield, our UK-wide mail order service delivers the same specialist care directly to your door.
